Why We Choose NatureFlex
What is NatureFlex?
NatureFlex is a collection of compostable and bio-based films which are used for flexible packaging purposes. Most of the grades are produced with around 90% renewable raw energy (at minimum).
Is NatureFlex compostible or biodegradable?
As both biodegradation and composability are part of the same process, for a material to be certified compostable, it must break down into water, CO2 and biomass at a consistent rate with other biomaterials. There must not be any negative chemical reactions on this final compost.
Product preservation?
The packaging made by NatureFlex offers high barriers to moisture, oxygen and oils in order to protect food and overall extend their shelf-life.

What is it made from?
The main raw material used in the films is the cellulose that is derived from wood pulp. This cellulose is naturally sourced from managed forests (responsibly and environmentally considered). As the range of films are in the form of transparent paper, they provide technical attributes that can closely resemble other materials made from cellulose, as opposed to generic and conventional plastics.
The wood pulp carries both the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain of Custody certifications making it a truly authorised and legitimate resource.
The cellulose is used for biodiversity conservation with a minimal impact on the world’s ecosystems. In addition, it reduces the usage of chemicals as well as water by significant levels. Other focusses of our raw materials consist of considering the rights of workers and populations, and finally conducting proper planning for the native plantations and forestry areas.
